Cup Double Header.

Saturday sees a break from league action as Dinno take on Staveley MWFC Reserves at the iCompare followed by Ashland Rovers on Tuesday night in a replay of the tie that was decided in extra time instead of going straight to penalties. It was decided the game should be played out again. 

Staveley MWFC Reserves. 
First up is Staveley, we've had some interesting games against Saturdays opponents, one particular game from a couple of years ago was a 4 - 3 away win for Dinno, an absolute cracker of a game. The previous 2 meetings in the league last season were both wins for Dinno, 3 - 0 away and a 4 - 3 home win with this game not being one of the better performances. The visitors led by 1 - 2 at half time but a second half turnaround saw Dinno take a 4 - 2 lead and the game finished with a 4 - 3 victory for Dinno. 

Ashland Rovers.
Bit of a strange one in all fairness. Seven changes for Dinno in this one originally, a slow start and some excellent goalkeeping kept this one all square. Ashland did take the lead but Dinno struck back through Brandon Whitfield. Full time came, in to extra time despite the officials being made aware it was straight to penalties. So 30 more minutes, Dinno bag what was though to be the winner. As it goes it wasn't. So, here we are playing the game for a second time on the 27th.

As always the club welcomes your support whether you're a returning regular or just for the one off. We hope we can carry on with some good attendances as has been seen the last couple of homes, support at this level is an integral part of the game and we hopefully this can continue.

Dinnington Town v Sutton Rovers

Tuesday 16th  November sees the visit of Sutton Rovers to the iCompare Phoenix Park for a fixture that was originally planned as an away game for the weekend just gone.  Dinno come in to this game on the back of a mixed bag of results, a couple of defeats in the last few weeks and the all important wins along the way, this is a league where anybody can beat anybody on the day. Along the way the 100% record was ended by Kiveton with a 1- 2 reversal, a game where many a missed opportunity ultimately cost Dinno the game, however a spirited performance prior to the Kiveton game saw the boys battle for a 2-1 victory against Clay Cross after going goal behind shortly after half time but a moment of brilliance from Brandon Ashmore in the dying minutes got Dinno over the line.  Good results have come also with convincing wins over Askern Miners and Staveley Reserves and a good old 1 - 0 over a dogged, young Sheffield FC Reserve sides. Despair at the death for Dinno.

A Point on the Road An afternoon where Dinno came in to the game on the back of six straight wins and one where the run came to an end, still a point earned but on the whole a difficult afternoon, one that could've been much worse but for some poor finishing and a couple of top drawer saves from Branchy.  The first half was a laboured affair, a slow start yet again and far too many loose balls were the order of  the day and it was a fairly frustrating affair with the yellows struggling to anything together. The opening quarter of an hour was very sloppy but take nothing away from the hosts, they were making it difficult for Dinno.  The first real chance of the game fell to Jordan Turner but he saw his effort saved and a follow up blocked before a weak header was gathered by the Kiveton keeper. Kiveton were stopping Dinnington playing with the yellows struggling to get down the sides and in behind and the frustration was clearly showing despite the best efforts of skipper Brad Hanso
