Dinnington Town v Sutton Rovers

Tuesday 16th  November sees the visit of Sutton Rovers to the iCompare Phoenix Park for a fixture that was originally planned as an away game for the weekend just gone.  Dinno come in to this game on the back of a mixed bag of results, a couple of defeats in the last few weeks and the all important wins along the way, this is a league where anybody can beat anybody on the day. Along the way the 100% record was ended by Kiveton with a 1- 2 reversal, a game where many a missed opportunity ultimately cost Dinno the game, however a spirited performance prior to the Kiveton game saw the boys battle for a 2-1 victory against Clay Cross after going goal behind shortly after half time but a moment of brilliance from Brandon Ashmore in the dying minutes got Dinno over the line.  Good results have come also with convincing wins over Askern Miners and Staveley Reserves and a good old 1 - 0 over a dogged, young Sheffield FC Reserve sides. Despair at the death for Dinno.

A Point on the Road An afternoon where Dinno came in to the game on the back of six straight wins and one where the run came to an end, still a point earned but on the whole a difficult afternoon, one that could've been much worse but for some poor finishing and a couple of top drawer saves from Branchy.  The first half was a laboured affair, a slow start yet again and far too many loose balls were the order of  the day and it was a fairly frustrating affair with the yellows struggling to anything together. The opening quarter of an hour was very sloppy but take nothing away from the hosts, they were making it difficult for Dinno.  The first real chance of the game fell to Jordan Turner but he saw his effort saved and a follow up blocked before a weak header was gathered by the Kiveton keeper. Clay Cross Preview.

Football back at The iCompare. Friday night sees the return of competitive football to The iCompare with Clay Crossthe visitors who are managed by former Dinno man Ant Lynam.  The two sides didn't meet last season after Cross played a season in the Southern section of the league but have now been placed back in the Northern half again after a league reshuffle.  The last meeting was the final game of the 18/19 season where Dinno were beaten by two goals and the reverse earlier that season saw a 6 - 2 win again for our visitors. There is no doubting Friday night will be a tough test for Dinno against an experienced Clay Cross side who will be there or there abouts come the end of the season.  Both sides head in to the game after convincing results at the weekend after a 5 - 0 win for Dinno at Phoenix and a crushing 9 - 1 result for Cross away at the newly formed Renishawl eaves them unbeaten after four games picking up maximum points along the way.  Tough c...
