Dinno make it 4 from 4

Dinno  made the trip to Goldthorpe for a rearranged fixture after the original meeting was postponed a week ago. The yellows came in to this on the back of three straight wins and in good form. 

The boys got off to a slow start but eventually a long ball out from the back found the in form Brandon Ashmore who tussled with his man and fought him off before a good finish to give Dinno the lead. Dearne started to take the game to Dinno who were struggling to deal with what Dearne offered up and were level after good finish from the edge of the area and eight minutes later had seemingly turned the game around with a well placed header from a set piece. 

A flash point came just before half time when Danny Cain mistimed a tackle and was reacted to by number of players resulting in a straight red for the Dearne man, a yellow for Cain for the initial challenge and a second yellow for his reaction. 

Following the dismissal and the chasing the game, Dinno made wholesale changes introducing Jordan Turner, Ash Kelly and Harry Dunkerley and these changes turned the tide in the yellows favour again. 


A hat trick from the bench

Not long after coming on, Turner won a penalty and duly converted to level the game back up sending the Dearne keeper the wrong way from 12 yards out.  The game started to settle down and Dinno were looking the stronger, more composed of the two sides and were rewarded with a couple of goals from Turner again. In the dying minutes the troublesome Turner was clipped from behind whilst through on goal and another penalty awarded, this time his penalty was saved. 


A much improved second half showing from Dinno and a well earned three points on the road. 




Next up is a home fixture against AFC Phoenix.
3pm kick off at the iCompare Phoenix Park. 

Hopefully we can get a good attendance and help the team maintain the good start to the season.

Dinnington Town v Sutton Rovers

Tuesday 16th  November sees the visit of Sutton Rovers to the iCompare Phoenix Park for a fixture that was originally planned as an away game for the weekend just gone.  Dinno come in to this game on the back of a mixed bag of results, a couple of defeats in the last few weeks and the all important wins along the way, this is a league where anybody can beat anybody on the day. Along the way the 100% record was ended by Kiveton with a 1- 2 reversal, a game where many a missed opportunity ultimately cost Dinno the game, however a spirited performance prior to the Kiveton game saw the boys battle for a 2-1 victory against Clay Cross after going goal behind shortly after half time but a moment of brilliance from Brandon Ashmore in the dying minutes got Dinno over the line.  Good results have come also with convincing wins over Askern Miners and Staveley Reserves and a good old 1 - 0 over a dogged, young Sheffield FC Reserve sides. Despair at the death for Dinno.

A Point on the Road An afternoon where Dinno came in to the game on the back of six straight wins and one where the run came to an end, still a point earned but on the whole a difficult afternoon, one that could've been much worse but for some poor finishing and a couple of top drawer saves from Branchy.  The first half was a laboured affair, a slow start yet again and far too many loose balls were the order of  the day and it was a fairly frustrating affair with the yellows struggling to anything together. The opening quarter of an hour was very sloppy but take nothing away from the hosts, they were making it difficult for Dinno.  The first real chance of the game fell to Jordan Turner but he saw his effort saved and a follow up blocked before a weak header was gathered by the Kiveton keeper. Kiveton were stopping Dinnington playing with the yellows struggling to get down the sides and in behind and the frustration was clearly showing despite the best efforts of skipper Brad Hanso
