The Chairmans Charity Cup.

Premature League End.

Once again the league season has been brought to a premature end, the covid pandemic striking for two years running now. In the grand scheme of it all, it was the right decision to be made with a good number of teams only completing five or six games and also the stop start nature we had seen, this was no good for any of the teams.

With clubs having to deal with restrictions placed upon them, it has to be said that it was handled extremely well and by abiding these we were able to watch some football, albeit just a handful of games and it was good that supporters still turned out to give their support when it was needed most.

The Chairmans Charity Cup.

Following on from the ending of the league campaign for the Premier North and South divisions it has been decided that we will get to see some football in the form of a Chairmans Charity Cup, a round robin of games followed by the excitement of knockout football.

The group games have been arranged locally with the idea of reducing travel for teams and in the hope of decent turnouts for these games.

Dinnington find themselves in group 2 along with Renishaw, Phoenix and Boynton Sports and get underway on Tuesday 13th April with Renishaw being the visitors.

Let's hope for a successful tournament and hopefully some much needed relief from the current situation we find ourselves.

Up the Dinno.
