A miserable afternoon for football with a good few games succumbing to the elements however it was game on at The Avenue, Bentley. Dinno came here on the back of a good win last time out at home to Thorne Colliery and were looking to gain back to back wins and it seemed today was going to be one of those days but it was Dinno who would run out eventual comfortable winners, a game of a red card that looked to be harsh on the lad, a wonder goal from Brad Sedgwick and some strange decisions left the few in attendance scratching their heads. A slow start from the away side who were really struggling to get going and despite this were playing some good football, linking the play up well but just lacking that killer instinct when it really mattered. Time and again the ball was finding its way to the feet of the attackers but they just couldn't make it count. There were times when a shot would be the better option instead of trying to go through. Tuesday 16th November sees the visit of Sutton Rovers to the iCompare Phoenix Park for a fixture that was originally planned as an away game for the weekend just gone. Dinno come in to this game on the back of a mixed bag of results, a couple of defeats in the last few weeks and the all important wins along the way, this is a league where anybody can beat anybody on the day. Along the way the 100% record was ended by Kiveton with a 1- 2 reversal, a game where many a missed opportunity ultimately cost Dinno the game, however a spirited performance prior to the Kiveton game saw the boys battle for a 2-1 victory against Clay Cross after going goal behind shortly after half time but a moment of brilliance from Brandon Ashmore in the dying minutes got Dinno over the line. Good results have come also with convincing wins over Askern Miners and Staveley Reserves and a good old 1 - 0 over a dogged, young Sheffield FC Reserve sides. A week ago at Thorne the boys were well worth a point again

In football it's all about results, it's all about winning games and digging deep and grinding out results. That is exactly what Dinno had to especially coming off the back of two away defeats. The game wasn't pretty, quite scrappy at times in the opening half with Clay Cross probably edging the first half with the better chances. Jay Atkin saving the hosts going behind after a mistake gifted the Clay Cross forward an opportunity, Branch beaten but Atkin was on hand to clear away the danger and earlier a ball over top was lifted over the Dinno goal. All in all the first half wasn't a great half of football. The second half the game came to life with all three goals coming after Clay Cross took the lead minutes after the restart, it looked like the ball was there to be won but the Clay Cross forward beat Branch to the ball and slid it home for the lead. Soon after Dinno were lucky not to be two down after being caught on the break only for the goal to be ruled out f

A Point on the Road An afternoon where Dinno came in to the game on the back of six straight wins and one where the run came to an end, still a point earned but on the whole a difficult afternoon, one that could've been much worse but for some poor finishing and a couple of top drawer saves from Branchy. The first half was a laboured affair, a slow start yet again and far too many loose balls were the order of the day and it was a fairly frustrating affair with the yellows struggling to anything together. The opening quarter of an hour was very sloppy but take nothing away from the hosts, they were making it difficult for Dinno. The first real chance of the game fell to Jordan Turner but he saw his effort saved and a follow up blocked before a weak header was gathered by the Kiveton keeper. Kiveton were stopping Dinnington playing with the yellows struggling to get down the sides and in behind and the frustration was clearly showing despite the best efforts of skipper Brad Hanso
